DateSpot (“DateSpot”, “we”, “us”) operates the DateSpot dating and events app and the website at datespot.be. We are based in Belgium and we handle your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account data — your email address and name when you create an account.
  • Profile data — photos, bio, date of birth, gender, and dating preferences you choose to add.
  • Location — your approximate location, used to show nearby matches and events. You can disable this in your device settings.
  • Event & ticket data — events you join and tickets you purchase.
  • Payment data — when you buy a ticket or subscription, payment is processed by our payment providers (Stripe and RevenueCat/Google Play). We do not store your full card details.
  • Usage & device data — basic technical information needed to run and secure the service.

How we use your data

We use your data to create and manage your account, match you with other users, show and sell event tickets, process payments, keep the service safe, and comply with our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run DateSpot:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file/photo storage.
  • Stripe and RevenueCat / Google Play — payment processing.
  • Google Maps — maps and location features.
  • Event organizers — only the details needed to admit you to an event you buy a ticket for.

We never sell your personal data.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data, except records we are legally required to keep (such as payment records for accounting purposes).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to certain processing. You can delete your account and data at any time — see our Account Deletion page. To exercise any other right, contact us at the address below.

Age requirement

DateSpot is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date.
